Guidelines for exhibiting your art with the Creative Artists Guild (CAG) / Exhibitor Cards

ONLY “YOUR” ORIGINAL ART: All artwork should be original work created by you, the artist.

ONLY members in good standing are eligible to exhibit (this includes Artist of the Month).

You must be juried in to exhibit (this includes Artist of the Month).

You may only win Artist of the Month once in a season (September- April).
NO Giclée’s, NO digital reproduction, NO reproduction of any kind (Gallery & outdoor Fine Art Shows)
NO art copied from books or magazines.
NO artwork that has previously won an award at our shows (this does not include Artist of the Month).
NO teacher/class-oriented art may be entered.
NO copy of any other artist’s work or any commercial artwork.
NO nudity or controversial artwork.

PRESENTATION: 

All Artwork should be presented in good condition.
Frames MUST be in good condition without chips, scratches and dust, corners MUST be tight.
Glass or Plexiglass MUST NOT be broken, scratched or chipped and NO fingerprints.
Artwork MUST be properly and securely framed with wire looped through screw eye hooks or D-rings.
Wire should be 25% or less than 1/3 down from top edge of frame, and TAUT so as to rest flat against wall.
Gallery wraps should be tightly stretched, edges painted, no staples showing and properly wired.
Saw-toothed hangers, cardboard hangers or portrait frames with easel back are NOT acceptable.
NO POSTER FRAME WILL BE ACCEPTED.

CAG does not provide hanging supplies or labor. If you bring in artwork that is not properly wired, or rejected for any reason, you will be
asked to correct the problem and re-present the artwork within a set time.

SALES

CAG will not take a commission on the sale of artwork.
Places of exhibitions may take a commission on sales. (See applications)
An entry fee is charged to compensate the expenses (Rental, Judge, Awards and Reception).

All entered artwork should be for sale.
If a painting sells, someone will contact you and the painting sold should be replaced by another up till the end of the exhibit.

REMOVAL OF PAINTING BEFORE THE END OF EXHIBIT

NO artwork may be removed by the artist before the scheduled end of the exhibit without the permission of the art exhibit coordinator.

PICK-UP

The artist agrees to promptly pick up his/her artwork at the scheduled conclusion of the exhibit or to make the proper arrangements if necessary.

DISCLAIMER

· The artist agrees to hold harmless the Creative Artists Guild for any theft or damage to artwork being exhibited in any venue.

· The artist agrees that CAG or the City of Dunedin, Stirling Studios & Gallery, Largo Library or any municipality where a CAG show is being held or any private business in which art is hung is not responsible for providing insurance or has any responsibility against such
occurrence.

· CAG is not responsible for loss or damage by any cause and all entries are submitted and received subject to this condition.

· By entering any CAG event or venue, it is understood that the entrant understands and complies with all of the above.
